About Me

I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). While my Masters in Counselling Psychology gave me training as a general clinical counsellor, I have advanced skills and training in the areas of trauma, grief and sex and relationship therapy.  I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including attachment work, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), The Developmental Model, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), feminist and social justice approaches to mental health and therapy, mindfulness as well as meaning and values explorations. I have also completed extensive training in the current frameworks and models of affirming sex therapy.  So that each person experiences counselling therapy that is a good fit for them, I tailor my approach based on each client's specific goals and strengths.

I navigate the world as a white cis-gendered straight assumed bisexual married able-privileged mother of teenagers. Of Scottish settler heritage, I am grateful to live, work and garden in the beautiful unceded territories of the Lekwungen peoples, also known as Victoria, BC.

I am a constant work in progress. I consistently work on identifying my biases, edges and privileges in order that I ground myself in self-awareness to reduce or obliterate any oppressive postures that might create obstacles to the creation of the safest, bravest space for therapeutic heart-centred work. I do my best every day to show up for life with joy, care and compassion.
